■ What is the Green Plastic Alliance (GPA)?
It is an alliance that strives to minimize the environmental impact of oil/petrochemical-based plastics through joint efforts of companies producing 'green plastic' products and using them.
Due to the accumulating plastic waste and climate change by the indiscriminate and excessive consumption culture of fossil fuel based plastic, various environmental bad effects are occurring.
For the purpose of protecting the environment, various companies, groups and peoples joining in GPA are co-working together to lead the desirable change in the unsustainable plastic consumption culture.
■ Activities
After the establishment event in March 2021, the Green Plastic Alliance has been carrying out various activities, including the GPA committees to make certificates about carbon-neutral materials such as bioplastics and recycling materials and holding meetings, seminar, exhibitions and conferences for environmental issue discussion and solution studies with GPA members together.
In order to promote the proper plastic consumption culture and environmental protection, we are continuing intensive activities such as academic seminars and policy meetings. To find out and create eco-friendly solutions, GPA members are collaborating together and organizing execution groups in various businesses.
GPA members are leading changes in various fields to build a sustainable society realizing circular economy for social responsibility.
