AroundBlue Co., Ltd. (CEO Jun Young Choi), a company that develops biomass plastic materials that make the Earth greener by practicing carbon neutrality, will showcase products made of biomass new material called CLC (Cross Linked Cellulose) that can replace petroleum-based plastics at the 27th International Plastic and Rubber Industry Exhibition held at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 1 located in Goyang city, Gyeonggi Province from March 14 to 18, 2023.

CLC Product 1 – Household goods made from new Biomass materials CLC. Petroleum-based plastics, which emit carbon dioxide can cause a greenhouse effect, are widely used in cosmetics containers and household goods because they are easy and inexpensive to mold. CLC can reduce carbon when replacing petroleum-based plastic products because it is made based on natural by-products and contains natural carbon.

AroundBlue Co.,Ltd. develops, produces and commercializes a new biomass plastic material CLC that has been certified 100% natural carbon content by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for the first time in Korea. CLC continues to be recognized by large domestic companies, investment companies and foreign buyers for the value of carbon reduction. During 2022, resin alone raised 300 million won in sales, and since then, we have been actively carrying out our business with the aim of achieving more than 10 billion won in sales this year.

CLC Product 2 – CLC is resistant to water and alcohol and is suitable for application in cosmetic containers. It is applied to lip tint's lid of a famous Korean cosmetics brand Heart Percent and the contents are manufactured by world's No. 1 cosmetics company Cosmax. AroundBlue Co., Ltd. is collaborating with many other promising beauty companies.

Biomass Plastic CLC pursues a virtuous cycle by re-resourcing by-products. CLC is biomass plastic based on the world's first technology of covalent bonding between molecular surfaces of cellulose-based materials. This prevents phase separation unlike other biomass plastics. CLC has 120 ºC heat resistance, has strong physical properties and can adjust the strength of the physical properties. This can effectively replace petroleum-based plastics.

CLC uses all natural by-products such as wood powder, rice husk, corn flour, spent coffee grounds, brewer's spent grain, and spent ginseng grounds as raw materials which has nontoxic characteristics. After being used as a product, it goes back to nature and decomposes naturally, and the decomposition period can be adjusted according to the application. Compared to complicated extraction processes of conventional biodegradable bioplastics, it has great price competitiveness due to simple process.

CLC Product 3 – Jig is an auxiliary component that provides repeatability, accuracy, and compatibility in product manufacturing by fixing parts in a certain position when processing parts of a machine in a manufacturing plant, etc. The jig made of CLC can be replaced the existing jig because it does not twist and has an iron-like properties.

Bio-based (biomass) new material CLC can be applied various field by modification of its characteristics.

▲ Water resistance, chemical resistance: applicable to household goods and food containers

▲ Heat resistance: suitable for food containers with minimum 120ºC of heat resistance

▲ Strong physical property: covalent bonding technology between molecular surfaces of heterogeneous materials makes it strong physical property

▲ Retardant property: applicable to electronics and building materials by adding retardant function

▲ Postprocess: applicable to various products through printing, coating, and deposition

▲ Anti-bacterial: applicable to hygiene products, baby products, and etc. by adding antibacterial function

CLC is already attracting a lot of attention from global companies around the world.
Please come and meet its possibility in the exhibition.
